Entrance to the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival at Changyang Valley, Yangpu District

To celebrate the 2017 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week, a citywide event—the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival—is slated to kick off in Shanghai on September 15.  

A 3D printed model of Shanghai Tower will be unveiled at the opening ceremony of the carnival.

The opening ceremony of the carnival will be held at Changyang Valley, Yangpu District. At that time, a 3D printed model of Shanghai Tower, which claims to be the world’s tallest 3D printed structure, will be unveiled, according to ThePaper.cn. Visitors to the carnival will also have a chance to see a fully functional naked-eye 3D TV which is the world’s largest in terms of size and is independently developed by Chinese researchers. A smart 3D printed car will also be exhibited for public view.

As another important part of the carnival, a youth entrepreneurship competition was launched in late July. 219 teams in all participated in the competition, submitting their innovative projects in various fields such as AI, new materials and industrial design. On September 9, the final 70 projects were selected and reviewed by experts and professionals.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Carnival will last from September 15 to 21.
