Hosted by the Shanghai Animation Film Studio (SAFS), the largest animation production base in China, a Chinese animation party is going to sweep the city of Shanghai. At the first leg of the citywide party, an exhibition is being held at the VivoCity Shanghai shopping mall, bringing back many people’s childhood memories.

The exhibition is divided into two parts. In Exhibition Area A, exclusive exhibition sections are set up for the five iconic characters produced by SAFS, including Monkey King, Black Cat Detective, Gourd Brothers, Nezha and Snow Kid. Visitors can take pictures with their favorite cartoon figures while having a nostalgic look back at their childhood.

In Exhibition B, there is a virtual reality (VR) experience room, where both adults and children can take a close look at the classic animation scenes in SAFS’s cartoons.

In addition, a variety of games, stage plays and Cosplay shows are also arranged for visitors. 

Also notable is that the year of 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the film studio.
