As a preheating activity of the Shanghai ATP 1000 Masters, a professional men's tennis tournament，Shanghai's first tennis festival is to be held from October 2 to October 8.

The one-week preheating citizens' tennis event includes a series of activities such as four amateur matches, one forum regarding the current condition and future development in Shanghai's campus tennis teaching, thirty promotion activities for tennis enthusiasts and four training activities for tennis coaches, physical education teachers and referees.

It is expected to guide citizens to take part in the sport and experience Shanghai's city spirit when enjoying fashionable and healthy life.

Tennis has become universal in Shanghai for the past two decades since the city undertook 1998 Heineken Open, part of the International Series of the 1998 ATP Tour.
