The year of Roger Federer continues as he extended his winning streak over his rival last Sunday in Shanghai. Beating Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-3, Federer was crowned the Shanghai Masters title again this year.

The Shanghai Rolex Masters tournament final on October 15 was a showdown between the two best tennis players on the planet. Federer and Nadal fought into the tie-break in the first set and it was the 36-year-old Federer who showed his dominance and took a one-set lead. Then he continued his form in the second set and eventually closed the set 6-3, cruising to his second win in Shanghai. He won his first Shanghai Rolex Masters title in 2014.  

The Shanghai Masters victory serves as Federer’s sixth title in 2017. Both he and Nadal have qualified for the season-ending ATP Tour Finals, which is scheduled to be held between November 12 and 19 at the O2Arena in London.
