One week earlier than usual, a group of dog tooth-shaped wintersweet urgently bloomed in Shanghai recently. It is over two months before Spring Festival.
This natural beauty took place at Guyi Garden in the town ofNanxiangin the suburbanJiading DistrictofShanghai. Liu Amei, the green engineer of the Garden said the dog tooth-shaped blossoms with purple inner center perianth and slim, pointed perianth pieces grow strongly and bring faint scent. They are classified in the semi-wild wintersweet.

Its bloom in advance is mainly attributed to the cold air coming suddenly in Shanghai several days ago, according to the green engineer.
The most wintersweet, however, won’t bloom until the Heavy Snow, which is a solar term, and will last till February next year.
