Now passengers at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport can get airport services at the touch of a screen. Two self-service information kiosks have been installed to save time for travelers.

Developed by the IT team at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the kiosks can now be found nearby the meeting points at the two terminals of the airport. Integration of technology allows the devices to perform a wide range of functions. Travelers can quickly find plenty of information they need, including flight schedules, lost and found luggage, landside traffic, airport facilities, locations of restrooms and restaurants and so on.

According to Shanghai Airport, operator of the Pudong International Airport, over 4,000 people use the kiosks each day.

The IT team behind the two kiosks is from Pan Shuohua Smart Airport Innovation Center which is named after Pan Shuohua, a model worker in Shanghai. It is composed of people from different departments of Shanghai Airport and from different professional backgrounds. They have made possible the integration of various information resources at the airport.

Next, the team is planning to integrate AR technology and indoor location technology into the self-service system, so as to make it easier to navigate inside the airport, said Shanghai Airport.
