Asia’s highest wall painting born in Shanghai
By:Zheng Qian  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2017-12-11 09:34

A large-scale painting on a 46-meter-tall building in Shanghai’s Daxue Road becomes Asia’s highest wall painting.

After 14 days and nights’operation, the Italian painter Millo finished the work in the air. Millo, a painter who creates works in various cities around the world, would firstly collect materials before starting to paint whenever he arrived in a city. Small dragon, lotus leaf and plane trees which are of Chinese characteristics are inspired by Shanghai’s city scenery.

According to Millo, who is fond of painting ever since he was young and has been dedicated to street art, gigantic wall painting is different from graffiti which is spreading in Shanghai’s Kangding Road and Zizhong Road,“gigantic wall painting will change a city’s landscape, therefore, when painting, I need to make the color and elements match with the surrounding buildings and make the painting more fused with the city’s atmosphere.”

During the one month Millo stayed in Shanghai, he has finished three paintings in Daxue Road and the Hub. The whimsical paintings open up a different imaginary world for people in Shanghai.
