A friendly football match between China and Hungary took place in Shanghai on December 10. Held in the name of charity, the match was to benefit the underprivileged children in China’s Guizhou Province.

Staff from the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai and Shanghai Huamei Charity Development Center competed in the football match. It was kicked off by Qin Zhigang, winner of “Shanghai’s Star of Philanthropy” award and secretary-general of a special fund of the Shanghai Charity Foundation. Szilard Bolla, Consul-General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai, and Cai Qingfeng, Director of Shanghai Huamei Charity Development Center also went into the battle. It was an exciting match and the spectators enjoyed it very much.

After the match, Chinese and Hungarian players shook hands with each other and took a group photo. Eventually, the 10-thousand-yuan prize was won by Shanghai Huamei and would be used to purchase winter clothes, shoes, hats and school supplies for children in a remote primary school in Guizhou Province. Apart from that, the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai would also donate school supplies to the school. Next month, Szilard Bolla will deliver the supplies to the underprivileged kids in person. He will also take with him the friendship and philanthropy of both Chinese and Hungarian people.
