“Poetry of Cursive Script”

“Poetry of Cursive Script” started at the Great World in Shanghai on December 12. Artists interpret the traditional calligraphy in a modern way. The exhibition with 6 sessions relies mainly on Zhu Jingyi’s calligraphy, shows over 50 works, and mixed the interesting words with love, life, constellations and other topics to convey an artistic, witty and humorous way of lifestyle.

You may have heard Zhu Jingyi who goes viral in these several years with his "strange" calligraphy which is far from the traditional calligraphy aesthetically but closely related to everyday emotions. Mr. Zhu expressed he enjoys this and Chinese calligraphy comes into peoples' lives in a cheerful and easy way.

Mr. Zhu created the calligraphy genre in 2014, which is extremely exaggerated and distorted, but with coordination and beauty, and especially in line with art of the network. He suggested that parents should take children to calligraphy exhibitions but is always opposed to keeping them practicing calligraphy after a model which can curb their creativity.

The show will last till March 11 next year.
