The 2017 Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall Season closing performances are coming, starting on the night of December 15.

　　Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, from U.K will present the orchestral music and art songs when the silent movie “Der Rosenkavalier”(produced in 1926) is played on the spot.

　　Richard Strauss, a leading German composer of the lateRomanticand earlymoderneras, created the “Der Rosenkavalier” as a comicoperain three acts in the 1900s which becomes one of his most famous works. The operadepicts the romantic love story of Vienna's aristocrats in the mid-19th century. He recreated the score for the silent film of the same name after the opera “Der Rosenkavalier” achieving great reputation.

　　Crispin Woodhead, chief executive of the orchestra, said the concert will be first performed in Asia but just once here.
