A special art performance in which professional dubbed-film makers of Shanghai Film Dubbing Studio represented red classics in the form of poem recitation was staged in Shanghai Malanhua Theater on December 16.

With Lenin in October and Lenin in 1918 as the opening, the performance brought audiences a feeling of traveling through time to experience the community’s glorious history and the revolution’s magnificence. No mater western poems Song of the Stormy Petrel, If by life you were deceived, or Chinese works like From Shikumen to Tian'anmen Rostrum and Ballads, the affecting revolutionary stories have great resonance with audiences.

Amid the 60th anniversary of Shanghai Film Dubbing Studio and the successful closing of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the special performance is not only a salute to revolutionary forefathers, but also tribute paid to the dubbed-film makers’dreams.

From 1957 to 2017, Shanghai Film Dubbing Studio introduced more than 1500 films from over 40 countries to Chinese people. Among these films, red classics like Lenin in 1918, The Dawns Here Are Quiet, The making of steel, etc. have influenced a generation of people.
