Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum to be located in Zhoupu

The Gabarron Foundation and the People’s Government of Zhoupu Town, Pudong District signed a framework cooperation agreement on building the Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum in Zhoupu on December 17. The Museum will cover 5,000 square kilometers.

Zhoupu is a cultural town in Pudong District with more than 1,300 years of history, adjacent to Shanghai Disney Resort and Zhangjiang Science City. The culture celebrities come forth in Zhoupu, so it is known as the "hometown of Chinese folk painting and calligraphy". The town covers 42.6 square kilometers with a population of 300,000.

The Gabarron Foundation, taking its name fromthe artist Cristóbal Gabarrón residing in Valladolid, is a non-profit, cultural organization founded in 1992. The Foundation owns museums, universities and cultural organizations, committed to the promotion and exchange of art, culture and education worldwide.

Besides, the two sides will regularly hold drawing contest, art lecture and training for children.
