The awarding ceremony of “2017 most beautiful villages in China” was held in Shanghai on December 17. Sanxing town of Chongming District, Shanghai is listed as China’s top 50 beautiful villages.

Sanxing town, which was a wasteland 1300 years ago becomes a fertile ground with excellent freshwater resources, beautiful natural environment and fresh air under the hard work of generations of villagers.

No matter in which season, thousand acres of begonia flower sea there is to shock visitors with its green landscape, chipping of birds and fragrance of flowers. Besides, the nearby Mingzhu Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in Chongming has a fascinating scenery which is comparable to West Lake in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang province. Chongming old white wine whose sweet flavor and white color could only be produced on the island has been rated as a “Product of Geographical Indication Protection” with hundreds of years of history in Chongming.

Guided by China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, National Tourism Bureau, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, etc. and initiated by Shanghai Media Group(SMG) CBN and more than 80 media, the selection activity has been launched for five times, receiving fifty million votes.
