Shanghai Jian Qiao University recently held a New Year Fashion Show for its international students. Around 100 works of different fashion styles were showcased on the runway.

Themed “Education Specialty to Silk road Economic belt (ESSE),” the fashion show took place in a campus studio of the university on December 19. Students from the Intermark International Design College, the College of Jewelry and the College of Journalism and Communication participated in the show. Most of them are from countries along the Belt and Road, such as Russia and Romania.

Each student played multiple roles and entirely owned the fashion show. Not only were they designers and models, they also acted as dressers, photographers and lighting engineers.

Displaying 39 designs, Russian girl Elvira was the most productive student designer at the show. Her “Rouge Lily” collection, which only took her four months to finish, reflected a unique and high-class conception and elegant taste.

Elvira began to study fashion at Shanghai Jian Qiao University two and a half years ago. And she is now pursuing a master’s degree. When she was interning in France, her professional ability was highly acclaimed by Emanuel Ungaro Paris.

Despite this, Elvira preferred to work in Shanghai rather than in France. “Shanghai is a diverse and friendly city with more opportunities for development,” said Elvira.
