Flight’s punctuality rates of Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport have greatly improved with Hongqiao airport ascending from the third last to the top in the nation and Pudong airport rising from the bottom to the14th.

To deal with the serious flights delay problem of Shanghai airports, since the second half of last year, the Yangtze River Delta region has implemented airspace reform. With the support from Shanghai government, Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Air Transportation General Administration of CAAC, Shanghai airports greatly enhance its flights release.

With the airspace accounting for one-tenth of the country’s airspace and the number of flights close to one-third of the country’s total, East China has a quite busy air traffic. The refined management reform includes formally put into use 12 temporary airlines and 10 ready airspaces, equivalent to opening 12 “high-speed roads” and 10 “parking lots” and effectively alleviating the pressure of air traffic in East China.
