100 international SMEs to join China Import Expo
By:Zheng Qian  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2018-03-20 16:03

United Nations International Trade Center (ITC) will bring 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to the first China International Import Expo, according to Arancha González, the executive director of ITC.

Arancha González said that SMEs are at the bottom of the economic pyramids of each country. The International Trade Center which has close cooperation with SMEs is mainly to support countries in making use of existing trading opportunities and transforming these opportunities into a more real trade.

Full of expectations of the China International Import Expo, Arancha González believes that this import expo is a positive signal from China to the outside world to encourage domestic companies to enter other markets, which will help achieve a win-win situation in international trade. In her opinion, the import expo marks that China is committed to transforming from a global factory to a global market.

“China is a very big market that many countries are concerned about. 100 such enterprises will come to experience how to sell products and services to the big market.” added González.

Jointly established by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 1964, ITC is managed by the United Nations and WTO and at the same time implements trade promotion projects which are funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in developing countries and countries with economies in transition.
