With a total exhibition area of 35,000 square meters, the 6th China (Shanghai) International Technology Fair (CSITC) kicked off at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center on April 19. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to participate in the three-day event and be immersed in in the world of technology.

Playing four main roles, which include technology display, project connection, transaction service and forum activities, the event will last three days until April 21st.

This year, one Chinese and three foreign honorary guest cities have been invited to the event, with the aim of establishing a platform of cooperation between Chinese and foreign exhibitors in technology, scientific research, economy and trade and promoting the participation of more cities and industries.

As the one and only Chinese honorary guest city, Dalian has been provided with an exhibition area of 500 square meters at the fair, where sophisticated enterprises and projects from the city showcase their latest technologies and strengths to the audience. Participating enterprises also attend technology communication meetings, seeking further communication and cooperation.

The three foreign guest cities are Oslo, Heraklion and Yokohama. The exhibitors from Oslo, Norway's capital and largest city, include start-ups and innovation companies and mainly cover the fields of green energy, environmental protection, education and education-related innovative intelligent technology. Organized by the government of Heraklion, the Greek city’s Port Authority, the University of Crete and the Foundation for Research and Technology have also been invited to celebrate their achievements in science and technology. In celebration of 45 years of its friendship with Shanghai, Yokohama is another foreign guest city at this year’s CSITC, displaying advanced technologies and products of hydrogen-related companies and holding hydrogen forums.
