The official trailer for the 2018 China International Import Expo has been released.

Displaying the beautiful scenery of different terrains from China’s vast territory and the advanced industry that is made possible by favorable government policies and generous support from all over the world, the trailer manifests China's ability and determination to shoulder its responsibility as a crucial stakeholder in the future development of the world economy.

The trailer opens up with the prosperously booming urban scenes. It was the reform and opening up four decades ago that rapidly turned China into the world’s most vibrant economy. Now China is the world's second largest economy, as well as second largestimporting country and country of consumption. In the future five years, over 10 trillion dollars of products and services will be imported according to estimates. No doubt the Chinese market holds an enormous potential for enterprises all over the world. In May 2017, President Xi Jinping announced that China will hold the International Import Expo starting 2018 to provide a platform to further this trend. It also serves to stress China's stance of fully supporting trade liberalization and economic globalization. The Expo will beget win-win results as it also helps China to balance its foreign trade by boosting the exchange flow of both imports and exports. Meanwhile, developing countries benefit by having more chances at participating in globalization.

The hosting of this Exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the Municipal Government of Shanghai. The World Trade Organization, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and many other international institutions will cooperate with the host.

The Expo will be held from November 5-10 and will consist of the Country Pavilion for Trade and Investment Exhibition, as well as the Enterprise and Business Exhibition. The former exhibition will serve as the platform for countries and regions to showcase their development of trade, investment, tourism and other products and services. The latter exhibition covers trade in goods sections and trade in services sections. In the build up to the Expo, the Hongqiao International Trade Forum as well as other forumswill be held to support the Exhibition. Over 100 countries and regions and over 150-thousand buyers will be present.

There is a Chinese saying that goes "A single flower does not make spring, while hundreds of flowers in full blossom bring spring to the garden". The China International Import Expo is the evidence that points to China's willingness to go hand in hand with all foreign countries in globalization. A new round of opening up is to be launched, and China's Belt and Road initiative will provide trillions of dollars of international development. China welcomes the world to join this historically significant exhibition.
