Minhang sets out to foster start-up community brands
By:Lu Yukun  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2018-07-17 16:33

Entrepreneurs exist everywhere, but start-up communities aren’t easy to find. A campaign hosted by the People’s Government of Wujing Town and the Employment Promotion Center of Minhang district to build the Minhang start-up community brand, kicked off at the premises of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China in the Zizhu High-tech Industrial Park in Minhang district yesterday afternoon. The campaign also serves to display the joint efforts of four towns within the territory of Minhang --- Wujing, Jiangchuan, Zhuanqiao and Maqiao --- to boost start-up businesses.

This year, building start-up communities has been one of the key tasks of Minhang. Each town within it is striving to build its own start-up community brand, fostering its own star makers and start-up entrepreneurs by integrating such resources as incubators, and venture capitalists. Wujing, Jiangchuan, Zhuanqiao and Maqiao are the first to embark on this journey.

The joint display by the four towns showcases the vitality and new developments of Minhang’s famous and time-honored brands. The Minhang Manufacturing display section, for example, shows a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Zhuanqiao paper cutting and Maqiao dried tofu, both of which are Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritages, are displayed prominently, while intelligent robots serve as the receptionists to interact with the visitors.

Wujing, Jiangchuan, Zhuanqiao and Maqiao released their respective logos for their start-up communities at the event, after which star makers and start-up entrepreneurs from the four towns shared the adventurous stories of their start-up projects or businesses with the audience.
