According to the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau, the first Shanghai International Landscape Lighting Forum and Exhibition will be held in early September to strengthen international exchange and cooperation in the field of landscape lighting.

With economic development, the urban need for lighting has transformed from simply lighting up the streets to dressing up the city, while tourism and nighttime commercial operations have placed high demands on the urban nightscape. Urban landscape lighting is therefore an important indicator of a city’s level of modernization and service capability.

In recent major national events, landscape lighting has given an extra glamour to the host cities, including the mesmerizing Shanghai Expo in 2010, the G20 Summit alongside the picturesque West Lake in Hangzhou, the BRICS summit in Xiamen and the Lights and fireworks show for SCO in Qingdao.

The first Shanghai International Landscape Lighting Forum & Exhibition will delve into such topics as the “Significance of Landscape Lighting to Cities” and “The Future Trends of Landscape Lighting”. World-renowned innovative design agencies, cutting-edge products (both technologies and materials) as well as integration providers will be present to show their illuminating wares.
