SHANGHAI - This April Chongming qualified to hold the 10^th China Flower Expo in 2021, which has a reputation of being “the Olympics” of the Chinese flower industry.

According to the current plan, the 10^th China Flower Expo Park will expand to the north based around the Dongping National Forest Park. The newly-built park will be for the main exhibition, while the original one will be the expansion area. Chongming promises to scientifically arrange the design, including both indoor exhibition halls and outdoor areas.

Auxiliary infrastructure facilities in the Flower Expo Park are being improved at the moment, with the layout of the surrounding buildings being modified and the overall landscape being improved. Venues for services like the conference center, reception center, trading center and parking lots are under construction.

A trail going around Chongming island is being constructed this year, whose first-phase will have a total length of over 40 kilometers. It plans to connect with the existing buildings and facilities in Nanmen Dock. Tourists and citizens can appreciate the landscape in Chongming by walking along the trail or, in the future, driving environmentally-friendly vehicles.

The Chongming District working group was established to undertake preparations at the end of this April, in charge of coordination and overall management. In July, the Shanghai Municipal leading group for preparation was set up, where more than 20 departments and units from the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau have joined in the effort to make the 10^th China Flower Expo bloom more brightly than ever.
