Walking through the Business Exhibition Area at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), it seems that you are in a gallery of world-renowned enterprises. A myriad of exhibits call out to each attendee.

In the High-end Intelligent Equipment Area, people can see Fortune 500 companies including GE, Microsoft and Canon. In the Automobile Area, a total of 69 auto companies from across the world are present, displaying all the latest mainstream cars. In the Medical Equipment & Health Care Products Area, cutting-edge high-tech products made by Roche, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and other global pharmaceutical giants are on show.

Let’s check out some of the highlights at the big event!

A flying vehicle called AeroMobil from Slovakia debuted at the Expo on Monday. Able to transform from a car to an aeroplane within 3 minutes, it was designed by an international team of over 40 engineers. The Aeromobil 4.0 STOL on show is priced at 1.2 million euros.

Elekta Unity, developed by Stockholm-headquartered cancer care device and solution company Elekta, is the largest piece of radiotherapy equipment in the Medical Equipment & Health Care Products Area. Brazilian exhibitor Selmi has brought its Renata pasta, which boasts a large market share in Brazil. Through the platform provided by the import fair, the company hopes to further expand their market share in China.

A Japanese company has placed a row of paddy rice in front of its booth. Japan has been working on rice variety improvement through modern science and technology since 1903. Now there are a plethora of rice varieties grown in Japan.

The next booth is packed with red wine from Algeria, a North African country with a long history of winemaking.

At the Expo, staff from Friesland Campina are wearing local costumes and showcasing the entire industrial chain of dairy production.

A French chef is showcasing his cooking technique to visitors at a meat booth.

The booth of Pietra Brewery offers a wide range of beer flavors and a tasting service.

A fresh fish market from Nagasaki, Japan, has brought to China fresh and fleshy fish, which makes visitors’ mouths water.

Many visitors come to a stop to watch the 3D painting at the Google Arts & Culture booth. Put on a pair of VR glasses and paint in an abstract space. Everyone can experience the thrill of creating an artwork.
