By:Zheng Qian  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2018-12-14 09:23

China’s first factory project dedicated to industrial offshore aquaculture has been launched in Lin’gang district of Shanghai.

With 80,000 square meters of aquaculture water, the factory can safely operate under a level 12 typhoon, and is movable to avoid super typhoons.

Offshore aquaculture represents a trend for green fisheries. The Lin’gang project can produce more than 10,000 tons of salmon per year on a single breeding and processing platform. With the industrial chain extending to marine health food and marine pharmaceuticals, the emerging marine fishery is expected to generate a trillion yuan annually.
