By:Lu Yukun  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2018-12-14 16:59

How has Lujiazui developed from a land of muddy roads to a financial center with breathtaking skyline? Where did the funds to turn rural fields into skyscrapers come from? How has the Yangshan Deep Water Port turn from a deserted island to the largest port in the world? What benefits has the Shanghai Expo brought us?

Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations and Party history office of the Shanghai Party Committee have jointly released a ten-episode animated series named Shanghai’s Changes over 40 Years.

This episode introduces how Shanghai overcame the difficulty in building the first bridges over the Huangpu River to say good bye to the old era when citizens had to take a ferry to transport between Puxi and Pudong.
