Preview of new products at upcoming import fair

With the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) less than one month away, exhibitors cannot wait to release information on their new products to be unveiled at the expo. It is reported that new products and technologies to be displayed this November will outnumber that of last year.

During the first CIIE, the Food & Agricultural Products exhibition hall was very popular. This year, Metro, a leading German international wholesaler, said that they would bring hundreds of goods, many of which would debut in China, including fresh beef from France, Rioba coffee capsules, and black Iberian pork.

With rising disposable income, medical equipment and health care products are increasingly popular these days. For the second CIIE, the world's top pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Roche, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and Lilly have made early registrations, ready to bring new medicines and devices to the Chinese market. For its debut in the import fair, Lilly China said it will showcase a new psoriasis treatment, Taltz, which has been recently approved in China.

Featuring AI technology and an advanced digital radiation therapy treatment system, Eleckta’s latest product will also be displayed at the expo.

Automobile manufacturers are also vying to debut new products. Iveco, for instance, will display five models, two of which are Asian debuts. Visitors will also see concept electric vehicles from Kia Motors and Hyundai from South Korea.

In the Equipment exhibition hall, people will see possibly the tallest exhibit during the second CIIE: the 25-meter-tall Miniload from Jungheinrich.

As a superstar at the first CIIE, the Taurus milling machine raised much attention last year. This November, its sister product, named Gemini, will also be shipped from Europe to China.

As for trade in services, TÜV Rheinland is going to debut a variety of new certification services. One service which deals with biodegradation testing and certification can meet the huge market for environmental protection and waste disposal in China. UPS, the first US express enterprise using drone delivery, said it will bring the commercially viable service to China, according to the UPS China chairman. DB Schenker, a global integrated logistics provider, also announced its plan for the upcoming import fair: taking advantage of the CIIE, it is to launch its Connect 4.0 shipping portal in mainland China allowing customers a more user-friendly interface for booking and managing shipments in over 50 countries and regions.
