Has the take-away meal I ordered ever been opened by the delivery person? This may be a thought some customers have had. Therefore, to ensure the safety of carryout food, the Administration for Market Regulation of the Qingpu District of Shanghai is currently promoting the use of a food safety seal.
The seal is a one-time fragile paper sticker to be put on the food package to seal it. Once torn, it cannot be restored. Thus consumers can determine that the received meal was untouched during the delivery process according to the completeness of the seal.
Since the catering businesses are also worried about taking responsibility for food safety, and perhaps being able to avoid being accused by some customers, such a seal has also been welcomed by them.
To encourage more customers and stores to use the seal, the Qingpu Administration for Market Regulation has designed 130,000 leaflets about using the food safety seal to remind consumers to protect their own interests.
