Shanghai’s universities, middle schools and primary schools will offer online education from March, announced the municipal education commission at a press conference on Feb. 18.

Online education in primary and secondary schools will start on March 2, and students should not go to school until notified by the authorities. The exact date for normal school attendance will be determined after scientific assessment in terms of the development of the epidemic.

According to Lu Jing, director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, once the date of normal school return has been set, it will be announced to the public in advance. At the same time, during the epidemic, all kinds of training and nursery institutions shall not carry out offline training or nursery work.
