Dear foreign friends,

Both Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (SPAFFC) and International Education Association Shanghai (IEAS) wish you a safe and happy Chinese New Year in Shanghai.

COVID-19 certainly changed 2020, with videos of empty streets with no one cheering to welcome the New Year and headlines screaming a new number of confirmed cases almost every day. However, we want to say to you, my dear foreign friends, we are always along with you, anytime and anywhere, especially during the Chinese New Year holiday.

If you are tired of looking at screens and feel the need for some real, in-person laughter and interaction with your family or friends, here is your time.

SPAFFC and IEAS will hold a brand Chinese new year event by collecting the videos about your happy Chinese New Year in Shanghai. The video could be a dinner with your family on Chinese New Year’ Eve, a wonderful moment or one day during Chinese new year holiday etc.

We will select and post the interesting videos via Wechat, Tik Tok etc. and special prizes will be awarded to the winning video which is the most popular one with high click ratio and approved by experts. All the submissions can be sent to hera@ieas.net.cn from now until Feb 28th 2021.
