NAIROBI, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, who has rejected Tuesday's election results showing an early lead for incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta, alleges that hackers gained access to the servers of the elections authority and interfered with the credibility of the results.

"We got them," Odinga told reporters Wednesday in Nairobi at his second briefing in a row since the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) started streaming results.

"Out of a scheme organized over apparently longer period, some persons conspired and executed a scheme to deny Kenyans their democratic right to elect their leaders. From the information in our possession, some persons gained entry into the IEBC Election Management Database and assumed the role of our collective sovereign," Odinga said.

The partial results show President Uhuru Kenyatta winning the vote at 54 percent, with 7.77 million votes compared to Odinga's 6.39 million votes, equal to 44 percent of the vote, based on 93.78 percent of the votes counted so far, which are 14.2 million valid votes cast, the IEBC showed on its website.

According to the opposition leader, an unidentified hacker gained access to the IEBC result transmission server to execute a scheme meant to deny him victory in the Tuesday's presidential elections.

According to Odinga, while Kenyans were bearing the long queues to determine their destiny, the conspirators began the execution of their plan. He gave a chronology of events that started at midday on Tuesday until 3. a.m. on Wednesday.

"At about 12:37 p.m. on Aug. 8, hackers gained entry into our election database through the identity of Chris Msando (slain IEBC IT director) who was executed barely a week ago into the account of Wafula Chebukati (IEBC) chairperson," Odinga alleged.

He said the user then created a computer program, which stalled the IEBC database.

According to the opposition leader, a formula was created that would format the presidential results at a percentage of 11 percent while also switching off the system's write and read.

This disabled the server's capacity to obtain and update data and was ensuring the records sent from the field do not reflect.

"The system was disabled from tracking events on the database. The database was also switched off so it does not keep the records. It was also not calculating the entries to reflect the true results," Odinga said.

"This election is not about me. It is about the values that bind us as a nation," Odinga said. He said the hackers created errors in the server that allowed them to turn a democratic process to a function of a formula.

He said democratic process is not a show that can be manipulated anytime. "I do this out of the obligations for Kenyans. Some people conspire and denied Kenyans an opportunity to elect their leaders," he said.

"They gained full entry into the IEBC systems, acquired powers to write their will and dwarf the peoples' voice. They created errors into the IEBC Core Server that allowed them to turn a democratic process into a function of a formula," he said.

Odinga said within 12 hrs the attack affected the process in more than 20 counties. He said what the IEBC has published as presidential results are fault results.
