TEHRAN, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Following the U.S. withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear deal, Iran is waiting for the European proposals to continue implementing it, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday.

Talking to Tasnim news agency, Zarif pointed to the recent negotiations between the Iranian and European delegations to save the landmark 2015 nuclear deal.

But he said that he was uncertain that "whether the results of the talks have been good or bad."

He referred to the guarantees that Iran expects from the European Union (EU) to preserve Tehran's interests under the deal once the U.S. restores sanctions on Iran.

Zarif said that the Europeans have said that all important parts of the nuclear deal should be implemented, the question is how they would implement them.

"It remains to be seen what the Europeans would propose to Iran," he said.

On Friday, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met his counterparts from Europe, Russia and China to discuss the future of the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
