BANGKOK, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Thailand is yet to organize ceremonies for the royal coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn after the general election scheduled for next year, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Tuesday.

In a press conference at the Government House, the premier confirmed that the royal coronation ceremonies will be held in grandiose and glamorous fashion after the nationwide election, which is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 24, 2019.

Last June, Prayut commented that the royal coronation rituals would be held ahead of the election.

However, the Bureau of the Royal Household is yet to set schedules for the royal coronation ceremonies, the premier said.

King Maha Vajiralongkorn or King Rama X has risen to the throne since December 2016, succeeding his father, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
