SAO PAULO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Governor of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, Joao Doria, said Friday that he hopes to attract Chinese investment to the state in his upcoming visit to China.

Doria's visit, scheduled for August 3-10, will include participation of representatives from 35 Brazilian companies.

The tour will cover Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai, with an aim to avail 21 infrastructure, technology, and services projects, valued at around 7 billion U.S. dollars, to Chinese companies, Doria said.

The most important event of the visit will be the inauguration of Sao Paulo's first commercial office in Shanghai.

The office aims to promote bilateral trade, investment and cooperation in several fields, including education, innovation and technology.

"Our office in Shanghai will also seek to expand opportunities for Chinese companies in Brazil. It will be an agency that supports Chinese investors in finding opportunities in Sao Paulo," the governor said.

Doria added he also wants to elevate the technological level of the Brazilian state by becoming more familiar with Chinese company Huawei's 5G technology.

Sao Paulo makes up about one third of Brazil's economy, and is the most populated state in the South American country.
