TEHRAN, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday dismissed as "baseless" the claims by Saudi Arabia that Iran had been behind the recent attacks on Aramco oil facilities in the kingdom.

"They themselves know that the charges (against Iran) are baseless and embarrassing," Abbas Mousavi, the Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, said in his weekly press conference.

"Whatever the Yemenis do is their legitimate defense and is supported by us," Mousavi said, adding that "their (Yemenis) reactions are natural" amid the four and half years of Saudi Arabia's "most severe pressures."

The way out of this crisis is a ceasefire and resumption of talks between the sides of conflict in Yemen, he noted.

Iran has denied the charges which have also raised by the United States and some of the European countries. The Islamic republic said that the attacks were launched by the Yemen Shiite Houthi groups.
