NAIROBI, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan traders are seeking business partners from China's Zhejiang Province for a post-COVID-19 rebound, co-organizer of the Zhejiang export online fair said on Monday.

Morris Kamweru, executive director of Zippy Events, told Xinhua that traders are keen to explore additional sources of goods in China in order to boost their revenues.

"Kenyan entrepreneurs are seeking to start new relationships with suppliers and manufacturers from Zhejiang province in order to access good quality products," Kamweru said.

The Zhejiang export online is taking place from Sept. 21-25 and so far 80 Kenyan traders have signed to have business-to-business meetings with their Chinese counterparts.

Kamweru said that the webinar will be an ideal platform for Kenyans to get quality household consumer goods from reputable Chinese manufacturers from Zhejiang province, east China.

He added that the restrictions put in place by countries around the world to curb the spread of COVID-19 have severely affected the economic environment and therefore the Kenyan business community is looking for new opportunities to enable them to boost their incomes.

He observed that traditionally small-scale traders depend on wholesalers to access goods from China.

"We are now witnessing a situation where even the small entrepreneurs can have direct links with manufacturers from China through leveraging technology," he added. Enditem
