11 young children died of malnutrition in the past three weeks in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggaraof Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reported on Thursday.
The latest two victims, who are underage children, died on Monday at the WZ ohannes General Hospital in Kupang due to dehydration though having been treated.
"Both toddlers died of complication linked to malnutrition," said a nurse at the hospital.
Maksi Taopan, an official at the East Nusa Tenggara Health Agency, said the provincial administration had sent a proposal requesting 57 billion rupiah (about 5.13 million U.S. dollars) to the central government in an attempt to gain funding for the growing problem.
