India Tuesday rejected Pakistan's statement that the Kashmir issue holds the key to building durable peace in the region, saying terrorism has nothing to do with the issue of Kashmir.
"It (terrorism) has nothing to do with Kashmir. Terror whether it is in Kashmir, in Mumbai or elsewhere, is abominable," Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna told the media.
Stating that composite dialogue between the two countries would begin only at the behest of Pakistan, the minister said, "Now it is in Pakistan's court to create conditions for the dialogue to be resumed."
Krishna's comments came in the wake of Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani's remarks that Kashmir issue holds the key to building durable peace in the region.
The composite dialogue between New Delhi and Islamabad was suspended following the Mumbai terror attacks last November.
