Finnish millionaire's kidnapped daughter found unharmed

A 26-year-old kidnapped Finnish girl, the daughter of Hanna Nurminen, who is one of the richest women of Finland, was found unharmed by police on Friday in southwest Finland, local media reported on Saturday.

The girl went missing in Helsinki, capital city of Finland, on May 27 and was declared as a missing person three days later. She had been held against her will for two weeks. The girl was found on Friday in a forest 20 kilometers away from the city of Turku, southwest of Finland. She had not been physically harmed.

A ransom was paid for her release, said the local police, without telling specific sum. The kidnapper, however, dropped partof the ransom in a car park in Turku.

Police have started investigations and arrested a suspected middle-aged man from Turku Friday night. The case is the first of its kind in Finland.

The victim's mother, Hanna Nurminen, is the chair of the Kone Foundation of Finland, a body which gives grants for academic research and culture. She is also a member of Herlin, one of the most wealthy families in Finland.
