U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is to travel to Qatar and Saudi Arabia from Saturday to next Tuesday, the State Department said Tuesday.

Department Spokesman Philip J. Crowley said in a press release Clinton will first visit Qatar. She is to meet with Qatari leaders on Sunday, including Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani and Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabir al-Thani.

Clinton will also speak at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum, being hosted by the Qatari government and the Saban Center Sunday evening.

Clinton will visit Saudi Arabia on Monday and Tuesday. She will meet with King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz as well as Foreign Minister Saud bin Al-Faisal.

The United States has renewed its push to restart the stalled Middle East peace talks. U.S. envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell has made shuttle visits to the region, holding talks with both Palestinians and Israelis.
