Magnitude-5.4 quake hits west coast of Honshu

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted the west coast of Honshu, Japan at 1508 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with the depth of 283.5 km, was initially determined to be 36.089 degrees north latitude and 136.771 degrees east longitude. It was about 51 km east of Fukui, Honshu.
