A Local fitness-company owner was sentenced to a year in prison yesterday for attempting to fraudulently claim an insurance payment of more than 200,000 yuan (US$29,283) by letting another person pose as the driver after he crashed his car after drinking.

Shen Mo, 30, paid a migrant woman surnamed Shi 20,000 yuan to pretend she had been the driver in the 2007 accident on the Inner Ring Road. He said he knew the insurance company wouldn't pay for the repairs if it knew he had been drinking.
