CHINA'S mainland has fulfilled over 86,000 kidney transplants. It carries out 4,000 to 5,000 kidney transplants every year, the second largest number in the world following the United States, Dr Chen Zhonghua, deputy director of Chinese Medical Association's organ transplant branch, told a medical conference ended in the city yesterday. However, there are some 120,000 people suffering uremia every year.
