SHANGHAI unveiled its design yesterday for the 2010 Rose Parade in Southern California on January 1.

The World Expo-themed float will feature NBA superstar Yao Ming and Expo mascot Haibao.

They'll be joined by players from the National Football League and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as models of the China Pavilion and the Shanghai skyline.

During the Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, Shanghai will stage a display, book exhibition and general knowledge contest about the 2010 World Expo.

Pasadena is well known for hosting the annual Rose Bowl football game between leading major-college teams.
