Baosteel Deputy Party Secretary Ouyang Yingpeng delivers a speech.
The Baosteel Group Corp has provided more than 85,000 tons of steel for construction on several major venues of World Expo 2010, Baosteel Deputy Party Secretary Ouyang Yingpeng said.
He pledged consistent efforts of Baosteel on the 2010 event as its sole global partner of steel provider, at a ceremony marking the one-year anniversary of Baosteel's partnership deal with the Expo organizer.
Shanghai-based Baosteel, China's largest steel company, has mainly supplied steel for the work of the China Pavilion, the Theme Pavilions and the Performance Centre, all permanent structures of the Expo.
Expo Organizer was committed to hosting an eco-friendly event, which requires the support of partners, said Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
He appreciated Baosteel's efforts to supply steel materials for Expo works so that "construction on all Expo projects is going smoothly."
Meanwhile, Baosteel unveiled its color coated steel sheet brand at the ceremony. Baosteel's color coated steel sheets have been used in a series of landmark buildings, such as the 492-meter Shanghai World Financial Center, the world's second-tallest skyscraper.
