The first stop of this episode is Xintiandi. Maybe due to the excellent
weather, the Shikumen complex here has attracted many tourists even since early
morning. The contestants look eager, and we even found a couple who had been
eliminated already. Was there are chance for them to get back in the contest? In
a shop in this fashionable leisurely place, they found the clue directing them
to Tianzifang. With an old-world style and an atmosphere of civilian art,
Tianzifang is embedded in the ancient lanes of the city, where small shops sell
special goods. Maybe the information directing contestants to the next stop is
written on the wall. Their next task is to buy a handcrafted object in the
antique market on Dongtai Road, and than resells it at a profit as soon as
possible. Let’s have a look what strategies the contestants employed. Coming up
next, the contestants will rush to Lupu Bridge. Facing strong winds off the
Huangpu River, and the Expo construction site beneath, the contestants must
reach the top of the bridge to obtain the next clue. Then they go to Cite
Bourgogne, where civilian residential customs are preserved. Contestants will
play with Zhang Jun, the Kunqu Opera Prince, an old game of rolling a hoop. On
the edge of extinction, this game seemed to baffle many of them, yet, only after
the game could they return to Xintiandi, the terminating point. Contestants will
end today’s contest cycling along Taipin Lake, but what they compete with is
nothing but slow progress. The team with the lowest comprehensive score will end
their journey on the Rush in this episode.
