The Traffic Police Departments of Hang Zhou city have made real names of suspected and anti-punishment drunken drivers public. Since the special action against drunken driving has been held, civilians have been greatly inspired and the public opinion has been supportive to make ugly acts public. From 15th to 20th August, the general national road and traffic safety situation remains stable with some decline. The growing tendency of traffic accidents with a death toll of more than 5 people per time gets slower and there has been an obvious declining rate of death caused by drunken driving. 32 people died from drunken driving accidents in our country, down 23.8% from the same period of last year. What deserves more notice is that the rate of accidents caused by drunken driving on city roads is relatively high. Among fatal accidents caused by drunken driving, 52.1% of them happened on city roads.
We can see from reports of the media that some after-drinking drivers play petty tricks and go on committing crimes, while some others display all their ugly and disgusting faces after being caught. For example, some people "crow at midnight" and they vainly attempt to take advantage of the midnight to drunken-drive and avoid the investigation. Some recruit large quantity of water after being caught in order to dilute the rate of alcohol in their body with the help of mineral water and escape from legal remedy. What is more, some spread petty tricks of "stomach-washing" on the internet in order to escape from equipment examination and legal sanction, such as "drinking sober-up water","eating sober-up fruits","drinking soap water" and even "detergent". It is these drivers, drunk and dizzy, that seriously ruined the reputation of drivers and become "road killers" threatening the safety of roads and traffic. As for these law-challengers and after-drinking drivers deliberately violating the law, measures taken by the traffic office departments are all equitable and of the common feeling, such as investigating on the road strictly, lasting examination, making real names public, and distaining drunken drivers. Viewing from the anti-drunken driving battle, relying on civilians and using righteous sword of the law, the legal operation department has won the morale and public opinion by bringing anti-law automobile drivers to justice.
As China has come into the era of automobiles from that of bicycles, the moving orders and custom of the bicycle era obviously do not match the enlightened moving requirements in automobile era. So, we must make the law strict, adjust the custom, make morality serious, and comply strictly with the order. For example, in the past, the death rate and the degree of injury were relatively low when a bicycle drunken driver hit others. However, if a drunken driving accident happened with a speed of dozens of miles and a weight of more than one ton, the people being hit will die or at least get hurt and the victims will always be the weak pedestrians. So, all the doers on the road, especially the driver of the automobile, must comply with and operate traffic rules strictly.
