It is a memorable experience to assistance improving schooling in west areas for our Eastday young staff because we went to many places we haven't been and do a lot of things we haven't done as well as realize numerous reasons we never realized. I will describe the most moving aspects below.

First, study. In that remoted area, the only way to get rid of poverty is study. I don't how poor they are until I see the truth: 1600 Yuan is the whole year income and the main food is potato. Because of poverty, they go out for work and the local government arranges some jobs for peasant's spare time. At the same time, the government takes much count of education. I noticed a slogan:"finish the education of junior middle school and then go out for work". They can earn more money if they have knowledge. So study is very important. If one can study well, he will be encouraged to further education. I was shamed when compared to their willing of study and I aware of the importance of improving study. So it is the wrong idea of " industrialization of education"proposed in the 17th Session of the General Assembly. It is right to focus on nine-year compulsory education. We may hardly image the vital meaning of study but education may change the whole life of a village child.

Second, road-works. If one get rid of poverty that need knowledge, then a group of people want get rid of poverty need road-works. The road before Eastday Hope School is the only main road leading to the downtown but it is not flat and cars hardly can go in the rainy day. Convenient transportation is important to the village, which can bring valuable local products to other places. Many practical experiences illustrated that it is vital for a village to have a good transportation system. I know there are number of local products such as angelica and radix astragal. Why the village of angelic is so poor? I think if transportation possible, people can send these treasures to hospital and then their income is more than 1,600 Yuan a year. A man rich will change a family; a village rich will change all people. I deeply realize that development needs road-works.

Third, an assignment about this 10 days assistance. Mr.Lu, party branch secretary give us an assignment that choose two children from poverty family in case future helping them. I accepted the assignment before, but when I get there, I see a group of lovely and sincere children so I feel the difficulty of the assignment. Perhaps, the selection will change the child's life. All the condition of life is familiar and their willingness to get rid of poverty is strong. After talking with local headmaster, I know they often select children who have particular way of thinking, which demonstrated the cruel of the reality. It is proud and extremely happy for a family or even a village of having a university student. At last, I choose a girl of 4 grade and one-grade primary school boy. They are excellent and I hope, from our help, they can contribute to our society.

The journey gives me a deep impression, which spurs me work better. I know how lucky I am since I saw how poverty there is.

Time flies, when we leave the place, I began to realize the goal of journey is not teaching children's knowledge, but teaching ourselves a vivid lesson. Assistance to improve education gives us chances to the place we never been and deeply know the reform of development. Compare to them, we have no any other reason for lazy working. Only society and economy developed, people can have better life.
