SPRING GROUP Break monopoly and fly farther

Spring Group is one of the largest wholesalers of tourism and charter flights in China. Its business covers tourism, aviation, hotel, convention and exhibition, financial leasing and so on. Its subsidiarySpring Airlines is a large private airline in China,which has gone public quite early.

The reform and opening-up has empowered Spring Group with the courage and vitality to innovate. The company has made many pioneering efforts in China’s tourism industry, such as grouping individual travelers and initiating ticket network nationwide. At the end of 2003, the State Council announced that it would break the monopoly of state-owned enterprises on the civil aviation industry and allow non-public capital to enter monopoly industries and fields. And Spring Airlines has thus become the first airline in China which is established by a travel agency, has its own sales system, and follows the low-cost business model tageting all. In 2015, Spring Airlines was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

As one of China’s largest private airlines, Spring Airlines is headquartered in Hongqiao, Shanghai. It now has domestic bases in Hongqiao, Pudong, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Shenzhen, Yangzhou, Chaoshan and Ningbo, as well as foreign ones in Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka and Jeju. The company has 86 aircraft and operates nearly 200 domestic and international routes, covering 10 countries and regions. In 2017, the transport turnover of Spring Airlines was 2,735millionton kilometersand 17.17millionpassengers were transported.
