2018-10-17 13:56:42

Quaker Chemical is a company which develops, produces and sells chemical products mainly used in the iron and steel industry, the auto industry, the metal processing industry and in mining, and provides manufacturers with management services for chemical products.

Over the past few decades, Quaker has become increasingly optimistic about Shanghai’s leading role in the reform and opening-up, and has repeatedly upgraded its strategic positioning in the city. Quaker set up its representativeoffice in Shanghai in 1994, and moved the Asia-Pacific headquarters from Hong Kong to Shanghai in 2005. In 2015, Quaker Chemical officially registered its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai, managing subsidiaries in China’s mainland, Japan, Australia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

Quaker China also witnesses Shanghai Baosteel grow into a giant in the steel industry of China, and facilitates such transformation. In 1995, as Baosteel began introducing equipment and localizing the process, Quaker actively responded by setting up a joint venture in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, as the production base to support Baosteel’s introduction of Quaker technology for local production. This move has greatly shortened the supply cycle of Quaker products and provided Baosteel with the products and services of the same quality as Quaker imports. It also helped Baosteel significantly reduce procurement costs, improved the stability in supply and provided rapid response and services from technicians. Today, relying on the leading position of Baosteel, Quaker has remained as the leader of the steel rolling oilindustry.

Seeing the rapid development of China’s auto industry, Quaker Chemical has seized the opportunity to provide chemical management services formajor domestic auto manufacturers such as SAIC Group, Beijing Benz, FAW-Volkswagen, Chery Jaguar Land Rover and MG.
