Morality in the age of traveling intellectuals

From:社科报2021-8-29 22:04

In the third issue of Journal of Shanxi Normal University (SOCIAL SCIENCES EDITION) in 2021, he Huaihong pointed out that from the perspective of the basic driving force and role of the great change of the Warring States period, this era can be regarded as an "era of traveling intellectuals", and "intellectuals have no permanent masters" and "traveling intellectuals make the call" are the two basic conditions for the establishment of the "era of traveling intellectuals". The competing tourists put forward various policies and strategies for prosperity and strength to their target countries, but there are fundamental differences between the pursuit of quick success and instant benefit to enrich the country and strengthen the army or the pursuit of moral long-term governance. The former mainly includes Legalists and scholars, while the latter mainly includes Confucianism, Taoism and Mohism. Comparatively speaking, Confucianism values both morality and morality, Taoism Values Tao over righteousness, and Mohism values righteousness over Tao. If there is no morality or at least "obedience", the violent person is also easy to end. Although morality may not directly promote the victory of the expedition, it may determine the final winner.
