Transition of urban-rural relations, evolution of industrial poverty reduction and construction of the path of common prosperity

From:社科报2021-11-15 17:07

In China Agricultural University Journal of Social Sciences Edition, No.4, 2021, Xing Chengju, Li Xiaoyun, Shi Baofeng and Wu Yuxia suggest that the relationship between industry and agriculture is significantly diverse at different stages of urban-rural relations. The problem of rural poverty has been significantly alleviated by providing employment, increasing income, income transference and welfare supply. At different stages, industrial poverty alleviation has different characteristics and connotations: indirect spillover effects to poverty reduction; direct employment to increase poverty reduction; and the final comprehensive intervention of industrial targeted poverty alleviation. At each stage industrial poverty alleviation has followed a path which originated in the countryside and then has given back to the rural poverty-relief development with high-quality diversification. Against the background of a discussion of Chinese de-industrialization, industrial poverty alleviation should not only be unweakened, but also needs to be supported through various policies and systems, which should not only maintain the need to develop poverty governance continuously, but also be an inherent requirement of China's rural vitalization strategy in the new era, and which is also the inherent requirement of constructing a road of common prosperity.
